As the Ukraine-Russia war has passed a year, many countries around the world are urging both sides to end the war. China, Russia’s closest ally, has called for a ceasefire to end the war and start peace talks. China’s call for a ceasefire was seen as significant at a time when the US and the West accused China of supporting Russia in the war. Ukrainian President Zelensky has said that he plans to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss China’s peace plan to end the war.
He said, “This plan shows that China is engaged in the search for peace. China’s plan is to negotiate peace and respect national sovereignty. I really want to believe that China will not supply weapons to Russia. I am going to meet with Xi Jinping regarding this peace plan of China.” said. However, there is no information on when this meeting will take place.
