Defense Minister Benny Gantz decided this morning (Friday) to increase the quota of work and trade permits for Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip by an additional 1,500 (15,500 in total), after a security assessment.
The implementation of the decision will begin this Sunday (21.08.2022) and this on the condition that the security peace in the region is maintained. The continuation of the civilian policy will be possible according to the assessment of the situation and the preservation of security stability.
As a reminder, at the beginning of this month, the Ministry of Defense began to issue employment permits to Gazan workers in Israel – in accordance with the government’s decision led by the Minister of Defense on the matter. The Ministry of Defense said that as long as security peace is maintained, the quota of employment licenses will increase to up to 20,000 permits.
