The Embassy of Japan and the Association Conscience et Action pour le Développement (ASCADE) signed a donation contract worth 29,655,000 F CFA, this Monday, February 12, 2024 in Ouagadougou. These funds are intended for the realization of 4 boreholes in public schools in Mogtédo, Moincé, Tansablogo and Tanvi-Nakamtenga in the educational district of Koubri.

Japan is continuing its actions to support grassroots development in Burkina Faso. The country of the rising sun makes available to the Association Conscience et Action pour le Développement (ASCADE) the sum of 29,655,000 CFA francs for drilling in schools in Mogtédo, Moincé, Tansablogo and Tanvi- Nakamtenga.

The president of ASCADE, Alain Nikiéma, affirmed that the completion of these drillings will allow more than 1,301 students and their teachers to invest in their activities for better academic results and more than 12,000 indirect beneficiaries.

«In addition to this, the drilling will allow beneficiaries to set up school gardens whose products will improve students’ nutrition and help schools meet their basic needs. To plant and maintain trees to not only create a favorable microclimate, but also (…) the fruits that some of these trees will produce“, he said.

Alain Nikiéma continued that the realization of these boreholes is the response to a priority of the commune of Koubri to improve access to drinking water. According to him, with this gesture, Japan, through its embassy in Burkina, is once again doing useful work.
