Russia can take part in the development and construction of a Turkish cosmodrome in one of the equatorial countries. The head of the Turkish National Space Agency Serdar Husein Yildirim told reporters about it.
He specified that Ankara would like to cooperate with Moscow on the cosmodrome and on rocket engines. “We discussed the possibility of helping Russia in creating our cosmodrome. They have a lot of experience in this matter, both the launch pads and the cosmodromes themselves,” Yildirim said at the GLEX conference.
The Turkish side received information from the Center for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure Facilities (TSENKI), the representative of the republic said. According to him, concrete work can begin in a year. Turkey has yet to decide on a place for a cosmodrome and international cooperation.
