SpaceX on Sunday, May 14, launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle into orbit with a batch of 56 satellites of the Starlink global system. The company announced this on Twitter.

The rocket lifted off at about 1:03 am (08:03 Moscow time) Eastern time from the SLC-40 complex at Cape Canaveral in Florida. SpaceX later announced that the satellites were deployed in orbit.

Last fall, Elon Musk’s SpaceX successfully launched 53 Starlink satellites into orbit. The launch of the Falcon 9 took place from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and became the eighth for the first stage of the rocket.

At that time, there were more than 3,000 active Starlink satellites in orbit, which is designed to ensure the operation of high-speed broadband Internet in those regions of the planet where it is unreliable, expensive or unavailable. On September 18, SpaceX launched 54 more satellites into orbit. In total, SpaceX plans to launch about 42,000 satellites. Earlier in September, Musk announced that Starlink is available on all continents of the Earth.
