The 1st meeting of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare of the 12th National Parliament was held. The meeting was held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhawan on Sunday (March 3) under the chairmanship of committee president AP Ruhul Haque.
In the meeting, the committee members of the Ministry of Social Welfare Dr. Dipu Moni, Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Md. Shamim Shahnewaz, Sahadara Mannan, ADM Shahidul Islam, Enamul Haque Babul, Mohammad Abdul Waheed and Shabnam Jahan participated.
The meeting was started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, as informed by the Parliament Secretariat. In the meeting, three million martyrs of the liberation war, family members of martyrs including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, four national leaders and language movement martyrs were observed for one minute.
At this time, the members of the Standing Committee related to the Ministry of Social Welfare of the 12th National Parliament were felicitated with flower bouquets.
In the meeting, the overall activities of the Ministry of Social Welfare were presented to the committee and recommendations were made for smooth execution of all activities.
At that time, the secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Director General of the Directorate of Social Services and the relevant senior officials of the Ministry and the National Parliament Secretariat were present.
