Chennai Meteorological Center Predicts Six Days of Heavy Rain in Tamil Nadu

Chennai – The Chennai Meteorological Center has issued a warning stating that Tamil Nadu could experience widespread rain and heavy rainfall in various parts of the state for the next six days.

According to information released by the Chennai Meteorological Center, an atmospheric low pressure system has formed over Sri Lanka and the adjacent Kumari Sea region. This weather system is likely to result in light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

The Meteorological Department has identified several districts that are at high risk of experiencing heavy rain. These include Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Theni, Dindigul, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

The forecast for October 30 also predicts light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. However, the districts of Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Sivagangai, and Ramanathapuram have been identified as potential areas for heavy rainfall.

On October 31, light to moderate rain is expected across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. The forecast for November 1 and November 2 predicts light to moderate rain in select areas of South Tamil Nadu, as well as a few places in North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

The Meteorological Department also indicates that on November 3 and November 4, many regions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal could experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

For the city of Chennai, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy for the next 48 hours. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature for Chennai is expected to range between 33-34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will hover around 25-26 degrees Celsius.

As heavy rainfall poses a risk of flooding and other associated problems, it is advised that residents of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal take necessary precautions and stay informed about updates from the Meteorological Department.
