According to the provincial delegate, Luis Soto, “As a (regional) government and in full coordination with the Government of Chile, we take all measures in this regard.. First thing today (Thursday) we activated Cogrid (Disaster Risk Management Committee) Emergency, together with the competent police units, teams specialized in searching for people and aerial teams.
For his part, the prefect of Carabineros de Aconcagua, Hernán Otaiza, stated that “We have carried out different courses of action, such as ground and air patrols, and with the support of other specialized units such as the GOPE. We hope to have positive results and we continue the work,” she added.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Petorca, Ignacio Villalobos, thanked the Carabineros and the presidential delegation “for being present in our commune and for also alleviate a little this uncertainty that family members have” of the four missing young people.
