A fire in a warehouse in the capital’s Demra has come under control after 8 and a half hours.

Fire service control room informed that the fire came under control on Friday (March 22) at 8 am.

It was reported from the control room of the fire service around 8:30 this morning that work is underway to completely extinguish the fire. 11 units of the fire service are working to douse the fire. The fire broke out in the warehouse in Bhanga Press area of ​​Demra around 11:30 pm on Thursday. A fire service unit went to the spot around 12:15 am on receiving the information. Later the rest of the units joined.

Fire Service Director (Development and Training) Lt. Col. Rezaul Karim told the media that there is no possibility of the fire spreading outside. However, it may take more time to completely fade. Because there is no alternate exit point in the building. The building is also at risk of structural damage. In addition, there are flammable materials and play materials inside. Also there is no source of water around the building. The stairs are also very narrow. The building does not have its own water reservoir.

According to fire service sources, it is initially believed that the fire started from the third floor of the four-storey building.

No casualties have been reported so far in the fire incident.
