Through a statement, Nueva EPS issued an alert for “the alleged scam of a law firm, false emissaries and/or acts of corruption in and around the company.”
As detailed, “they have been informed of the presence of a law firm that offers its ‘services’ to providers and suppliers” to collect from them the portfolio they have with the New EPS.
In turn, he specified that according to the information he received from a source, to obtain the respective powers, the alleged fraudsters guarantee total success in the processes, arguing that they have direct contacts within the entity.
The president and the Board of Directors of Nueva EPS warned that practices associated with fraud, scams and/or trafficking of internal or external influence have no place in the entity and will be reported. “Officials who practice or lend themselves to acts of corruption, in addition to leaving the company, will be criminally sued before the competent authorities.”
Next, they emphasized: “As an ethical criterion of the entity, no contractor, supplier or lender needs an intermediary for Nueva EPS to make their payments, since the company has the formal administrative channels and means to carry out this process.” .

Aldo Cadena announced a forensic audit of Nueva EPS, as a result of the crisis the entity is going through
The new president of the Nueva EPS, Aldo Cadena, recently presented an assessment of what he found in the largest Health Provider Entity (EPS) in the country, in charge of guaranteeing service to more than ten million users in the 32 departments of the country.

According to Cadena, the entity “is in crisis” and a forensic audit is necessary that will begin in the coming days and will deliver a report on some expenses that are not justified.
According to the figures provided by Cadena himself, the entity’s medical expenses have been increasing, which has led the New EPS to face a difficult financial situation.
“The entity’s expenditure went from 96.05% in 2022 to 98.98% in 2023, which added to the 3.5% of administrative expenditure reached 102.5%, that is, the expenditure exceeded income. leaving a deficit budget,” Cadena said.
The new president of this EPS also pointed out that “2024 would begin as it left in 2023, spending more than what is received. (…) In 2022 there was a profit of 10,400 million pesos and in 2023 there was a loss of 411,382 million pesos, without including hidden liabilities that appeared and that could be millionaires. That is why a forensic audit will be carried out next week, by order of the same shareholders,” he added.
According to Cadena, this measure is taken because these losses could be higher due to what he himself knew in the reports that the Comptroller’s Office and the Superintendence of Health have.
“Why are they asking for this audit, because the 411,000 million pesos could be more, because there are some unprocessed or audited invoices that would increase by a few billion pesos,” he added.
